In the weeks since the breeder Nitara escaped the temple with her sacrifice, Xian, the High Priestess, has had ample time to think about her circumstance and how what she has been taught her entire life is wrong. Xian plans a journey to the ruins that house the ancient books and she enlists Hel, her bodyguard, to accompany her there. Hel isn't thrilled at Xian being in possible danger - he has secretly loved Xian for years knowing that it could mean his death. Now, however, he doesn't care because once they are away from the priestess's compound, Xian becomes the woman of his dreams.
Xian is beautiful and brave. She has soul searched her life and realized that everything she has even been taught or believed is wrong. But her feelings for Hel are not nor are her feelings for the bad boy Siraj whom they picked up and saved along the way.
I hated to see this highly arousing and provocative novella end. The hero and heroine of The Priestess clicked and with Siraj added to the mix the hotness factor was upped to the max. R. G. Alexander has penned a good fourth Wasteland installment and because it is so good, I might just have to read it again and again!

R.G. Alexander has created characters that are intriguing and well defined. I like Xian, a strong and devoted woman, who sees that what is happening in the Temple is not right or good. She questions, and decides to find answers. She is innocent, but she is also wise in so many ways. When she realizes that she wants Hel more than she wants to be High Priestess, she sets out to make the changes that need to be made.
Hel is a marvelous character, a man of secrets and hidden desires. Of course he is handsome and strong, but he also is that rare man who actually listens and doesn't instantly condemn or prejudge. He takes command in an emergency, and sets the rules and the pace for what happens between them.
Siraj is the wild card, thrown in the mix, by fate or by design, and he brings a different angle to the dynamic. Siraj is one who likes to stir things and people up.
Of course, this would not be R.G. Alexander without hot, steamy sex, in several variations Xian and Hel, Xian and Siraj, Hel, Xian and Siraj, Hel and Siraj-everyone gets into the act. I loved how Ms. Alexander tied this book in with the other three, bringing in the characters we met and enjoyed, in a natural progression. It seemed right that these people should all cross paths at some point, and it was dome with superb style.
I would recommend this series to those who like their stories on the hot and steamy side, with lots of action, adventure and passion. Each book can stand alone, but they are much more when read as a series.
This book (or any of the wasteland series)failed to reel me in. I think by the time I got to book 4 I was over this world. The other books were not for me, I only brought them because RGA wrote the last one. Im a big fan, but this book missed it for me.
This book was a nice read. I like a little bit more action and drama in my books. This one was close to it.
The Priestess The 4th and final book in the Wasteland series, nicely ties up the series. Hal and Xian story was sweet. I will be exploring other titles by RG Alexander.
The final book in the colaboration. Good in it own right and ties the other three books together as a unit. Does she keep the course that she has been trained for or does she risk her life and the lives of others for her needs.
